All Black Schools
All of the black schools when Rosa was little were crowded and it was really hot. They didn't even have desks to work on, to rest there arm or put there books on. All they had was long church benches. They were so poor that they didn't even have a water fountain in there school. During the school day they would have to ask their teacher if they could go to the colored water fountain to get a drink of water outside. In one colored school they had a huge heater in the middle of the room just to keep them warm during the winter.
School Days
When Rosa was in school blacks and whites were separated. White people treated black people like they were dirt. She was kind of scared to school because the white people would knock her books down and they would hurt black peoples feelings. If your were black in a white person school you would get tormented and white people would give you dirty looks. They wanted you to be miserable until you left and got out of there school it was really harsh for Rosa.
Freedom
Back in the day White people did not want black veterans to wear their uniforms.Rosa Parks and her husband went to the courthouse march 19th to watch Dr.King not plead guilty. Rosa's next door neighbor husband got shot to death by a police officer because They said that he was drunk and disorderly. Rosa's neighbor was talking in front of the crowd in the courthouse telling everybody how her husband died and yet nobody was really paying attention until she brought up how Dr.King was pleading guilty and he had to pay a five hundred dollar fine or serve a year at hard labor.Dr. King never had to go because his convection was appealed sucsessfully.
We have the right to vote
When Rosa Parks was growing up no blacks had the right to vote because of all the segregation. They did not alow blacks to vote because they had to be seperated from whites. Also the whites were supposedly more better than blacks. The whites did not care about how the blacks felt or how badly some of them wanted to vote. Rosa Parks helped right the treaty/paper to help the right for blacks to vote. In my opinion i think that blacks should vote.
What Rosa did
One evening in December 1955 Rosa Parks was sitting in the colored section of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama. There were lots of whites that were coming onto the bus. The bus driver told Rosa that he needed the front seats where the blacks section was. Rosa did not listen to the bus driver she was tired of moving every time a white person needed her to. The bus driver said that if you do not move you will be arrested. Rosa said arrest me then. Rosa asked the cops why do you always give white people what they want. The cops said we are just doing are job mam, and they told me that i was under arrest.

Awards that rosa got
In 1989 a memorial was dedicated to Rosa parks in Montgomery for all of her hard work she did. Also she got that award for standing up for herself on the bus where she got arrested for not giving up her seat to a white man. Rosas award said Rosa parks blvd. She was so happy and excited that there was going to be a blvd. names after her. Everyone in that time period would know how wonderful a person Rosa Parks was.
Growing up
It was tough for Rosa Growing up because slavery was back then and blacks were seperated from whites where ever they went. At drinking fountains, restaraunts, and any other thing you can think of. Rosas family did not have a whole lot of money back in the day but they still made it til the end because they did not care about what whites would call them. They just minded there own business and kept on doing what they were doing.
